International Adoption Training (4 hours)
This class discusses the long term implications for a family that has become multicultural through international adoption. It includes discussion on the following:
· The child’s history and cultural, racial, religious, ethnic and linguistic background;
· Cultural heritage of the child including the available community resources;
· The impact on a child leaving familiar surrounding as appropriate to the expected age of the child;
· The impact of frequent moves and multiple caregivers on the development of a child, and the impact of institutionalization on children;
· Parenting a child that has been abused or neglected;
· Parenting the physically, mentally or developmentally or emotionally delayed child.
Each family will complete an assignment prior to attending the class.
Cost: $90 couple, $45 single - workbook is included if you have attended the CORE Adoption Training, otherwise the cost of the workbook is $15 (to be mailed after registration is received)

*Cancellations less than two weeks prior to class are non-refundable; however, payment can be applied to a class at a future date. Cancellations made greater than two weeks prior will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee, or the full payment can be applied to a class at a future date.
